In the heart of winter here in Chicago and a balmy 50 degrees outside. Very strange! Us Chicago folk know that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. The fun is heading north this coming weekend for a few shows in Madison at Univ. of Wisconsin at Whiskey Jacks.

“The songs are screaming for big-time attention”

“It should surprise no one when Painkiller Hotel is finally named a VH1 Artist of the Month”

“With strong guitars and great vocals, Black Roses is an album that sticks with you. As one of the first albums of 2008, this album is a sign of good things to come in the music business”
Lumino Magazine
“Chicago rock quartet Painkiller Hotel, led by singer/guitarist Kevin Presbrey plays melodic mainstream rock of a sort that, when marketed well, often sells in the millions”
ALL MUSIC Magazine
“Painkiller Hotel seems like a band that’s ready to jump to the majors and start filling arenas and mugging for VH1 any minute”
ALL MUSIC Magazine
"We made our name by making good music," explains Painkiller Hotel's vocalist, Kevin Presbrey. "I'm extremely proud of what this band has been able to achieve without the help of some crazy image. People are drawn to the band based on the strength of the music." With their second release, “Afterglow," Presbrey believes people will begin to put a face with Painkiller Hotel’s music. The album’s ten explosive tracks were produced by Chris Sevier (Eliot Morris) and mixed by George Tutko (Duran Duran, Rod Stewart, John Cougar, and The Rolling Stones).
Drawing comparisons to such artists as Pearl Jam, Tonic, and Live, and boasting a sentimental songwriting style, Painkiller Hotel is quickly making a name for themselves on the national scene with the appearance of their song “So Far Away” on MTV’s “Real World Sydney,” performances at the 2008 and 2009 South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, a 2008 tour through Australia, 13 additional TV placements on other major network shows such as “The Hills” and “Bad Girls Club,” and airplay on 160 CMJ radio stations nationwide including 93 WXRT Chicago.
Painkiller Hotel, the epitome of the hard-working Midwestern band, earned its stripes playing over 200 regional shows a year over the past five years at regional clubs throughout the United States, sharing the stage with such greats as Train, Doobie Brothers, John Fogerty, Tonic, Michael Glabicki (Rusted Root), Sister Hazel, and Everclear. Their grassroots support for the band caught the attention of Rock Ridge Music, who signed Painkiller Hotel in the summer of 2009.
Thank you to all the dedicated folks who support live music!
